Public Policy
  • Lead the local Farm Bureau Public Policy Action Team by recruiting and providing direction to volunteers to assist in the execution of action team programs and activities.
  • In coordination with the president, recruit an effective Public Policy Action Team. The action team is charged with developing, implementing and advancing Farm Bureau policies dealing with issues at the local, state and national levels and developing and maintaining ongoing relationships with government officials at all levels through a variety of political activities.
  • Develop a program of work to deal with policy issues. This program of work should consider Farm Bureau goals, focus on policy advancement and build relationships with stakeholders and government officials at all levels.
  • Encourage healthy policy debate and balanced viewpoint of agriculture through recognition of the importance of a clean environment, vibrant community and strong economy in production agriculture.
  • Educate members on relevant topics, and encourage them to express thoughts, concerns and direction for the organization.
